I can’t believe what I just read – the medical system blows my mind. It doesn’t make any sense to me, a regular old mom, how can it make sense to the people running the show?

That is bullshit! I can look up who your local congressman is for your area, and you need to call them and give them an earfull. You can appeal it to them and they will go on your behalf and advocate for your case (I have done this now three times with three different problems). I know there is a shortage and they aren't giving out the H1N1 (talked to my brother who is a doctor), but they should give them the normal one! Especially since your on state I would throw a fit. Dammit! Wish I knew how to push through getting help. Have you tried calling your local Health and Human Services group. Sometimes they do flu shot “clinics” for kids that don’t have insurance, etc. Maybe if you explained your situation they’d be able to help, too? Just a thought…your house clearly does NOT need to get this crud!

We are going through the same shortage. It’s fucking crazy and unacceptable. As a hospital employee they usually offer it to everyone, now because of the shortage anyone that has direct patient contact is the priority. Our Pedi is waiting for another shipment in 2 weeks. hopefully that’s not bullshit. Hope you get this worked out!

yeah, I hear ya Dogg… I have been to four pharmacies to get mine (OB/GYN doesn’t have ‘em at the moment) and keep getting told “they’re on backorder.” But I was told that it was essential for expectant mothers to be vaccinated… so now I’m kinda nervous!
