Dear Chase,

       I haven’t written you a letter since you were a tiny little man, but I felt that your second birthday was an occasion deserving of some love.

Chase you are so very loved in this family, and not just by your Daddy, Brother and I. You have stolen the hearts of the whole clan, your aunts and uncles adore you, as do your great-aunts and uncles. You are such sweet tempered little boy. No pushing and hitting for you, you like peace and try to diffuse fights. It is truly amazing to watch you play with your friends and see you interact.

Not that you don’t have your moments where I see a glimpse of what is to come in the future. You will throw a temper tantrum with the best of them, but never in public. It’s almost like you don’t want anyone to know you aren’t a perfect little man,so that when Mommy complains everyone thinks I’m nuts. Thanks for that.

You were 18 months old when your little brother joined our family. I know it was hard on you. I’m sorry for that, and I wish you could have had some more time with just us. You took it in like a champ though and you are so good to him. He loves you so much Chase, and I know that you love your “bebe”. You are such a sweetheart.

It’s so amazing for me to look at you every day. You look so much like me, even though you have more of Daddy’s personality and traits. Man do you love your trucks. Most of your day is spent pushing your trucks around the room, and trying to show Jimmy how to do it. I’m so looking forward to the day when the two of you can play together. I hope you are best friends, you are blessed to have a brother to grow up with and I hope you never take that bond for granted.

I hope that you grow up to be just like your Daddy. I hope that we can instill in you all the respect and courtesy’s that he was raised with. I hope you continue to be sweet, but I hope you learn to stand up for yourself.

I hope you like baseball, your Daddy and PopPop will be very disappointed if not!

So in three days you will be two years old, my sweet beautiful little man. I love you so much, and it is you who made me a Mommy. It is for you that I get up every day, and it is you that sends me crashing to bed at night.
